Construction:

Foil/film/foil shielding tapes are constructed of one polyester, polyethylene, or polypropylene film laminated between two aluminum or copper foil layers.

Selecting the product that's right for you:

Films
  • HIGH-DRAW foil/film/foil laminates offer exceptional draw characteristics and resilient shielding.
  • Polyester films have a higher temperature resistance than polypropylene and therefore are often selected for use directly under an extruded jacket.
  • Polypropylene film laminates are more flexible and economical due to their high yield.
  • Polyethylene film is both economical and offers resistance to chemicals.
  • Thicker film substrates provide higher dielectric and tensile strengths.

Foils
  • Aluminum is lighter in weight and more cost effective than copper
  • Copper offers resistance to corrosion and radiation; soldering at termination; and higher conductivity relative to aluminum
  • Thicker foil substrates provide higher conductivity and tensile strength, and lower signal attenuation.
