Selecting the product that's right for you:
  • Colored constructions (laminated or internally pigmented) serve to verify complete removal of tape during cable termination, confirm tape placement during cable manufacture, and identify cable manufacturer or twisted pair.
  • Laminated core wrap provides encapsulated, abrasion-resistant color.
  • Printed core wrap identifies cable

FILM
  • Polyester film has a higher temperature resistance than polypropylene and is therefore often selected for use directly under an extruded jacket.
  • Polypropylene film is a cost effective/high yield alternative typically used as a core wrap when molten jacket material does not have contact with the tape.
  • Polyethylene film offers chemical resistance while performing as a heat sealable component
  • Polyimide film (Kapton®) provides temperature resistant insulation in high temperature environments
  • Thicker film substrates provide higher dielectric and tensile strengths

PAPER

Aramid paper (Nomex®) provides temperature resistant insulation and binding

COATINGS

All core wraps and separator tapes are available with heat seal or pressure sensitive adhesive coatings which bond to common jacket materials or to themselves, helping to eliminate water paths and simplify jacket stripping.
