General Purpose Semi-Flexible E-Glass

FIBERBUNDLE® is a non-metallic, E-glass composite designed primarily for use as a peripheral strength element in fiber optic cables. This round, flexible product is produced with E-glass fibers and one of two different resins. One resin promotes adhesion to jacketing materials and the other eliminates this property. FIBERBUNDLE has a coefficient of thermal expansion (CTE) similar to optical fibers, thereby limiting strain during temperature-induced expansion and contraction. The high elastic modulus of the E-glass composite minimizes elongation of the cable to limit strain on the optical fibers, making FIBERBUNDLE ideal for aerial applications.

FIBERBUNDLE® is most often used with LIGHTLINE® to improve overall tensile strength without excessive cable rigidity.
