High Temperature Tapes

Typical Application: Shielding of cables in high temperature environments (200°C) such as plenum, military and aerospace cables.

Construction:

Nomex® aramid paper, Kapton® polyimide film or other high temperature films laminated to aluminum or copper foil.

Provides shielding in high temperature processing and end use environments without compromising dimensional stability.


Selecting the product that's right for you:

FILM
  • Polyimide film (Kapton®) provides a higher level of temperature resistance and dielectric strength than aramid paper. In addition, it is often more formable -- an advantage for small diameter cables.
PAPER
  • Aramid paper (Nomex®) is more effective than polyimide film (Kapton®) where temperature resistance and dielectric strength requirements allow.
FOIL
  • Aluminum is lightweight and cost effective.
  • Copper offers corrosion and radiation resistance, soldering at termination, and higher conductivity relative to aluminum
  • Thicker foil substrates provide higher conductivity and tensile strength, and lower signal attenuation.
